Project Runway :: Season 6 Episode 14

Here's my recap, cliff notes style. If you don't want to know, don't read!!

Episode 13: Finale Part 2
Designers must create a 13 piece collection for Fashion Week.

Favorite Collection : Irina and Althea ... it was a tie for me.
Least Fav Collection : Carol Hannah

Winner : Irina

  • Gorgeous jackets.
  • Lots of black but exquisite detail.
  • I wouldn't wear this much black but her workmanship was outstanding. For that alone she would have my vote to win.
Althea :

  • Loved the big sweaters, long dresses, jackets and her pants.
  • The off the shoulder top (knit?) was gorgeous and sexy sexy.
  • This was the most wearable collection for me. I would love to wear almost all of this collection.
Carol Hannah :

  • Sexy.
  • Loved the tulle skirts.
  • Some tops were gorgeous .
  • Lots of Satin. I know how hard it is to work with this material. She did a fantastic job. She's the next Jessica McClintock.

Project Runway :: Season 6 Episode 13

Here's my recap, cliff notes style. If you don't want to know, don't read!!

Episode 13: Finale Part 1
Designers are sent home to create their collection for Fashion Week.

Fave Collection (so far) : Irina
Least Fave (so far) : Althea

The 3 finalists and their collections :
  • CAROL HANNAH : theme - fairy tale-ish(?). Lots of ruffles and tulle. I loved her black cape - it was very victorian steampunk-ish. I don't like the gold she's always using- she adds it to this collection as well. Poor CH was sick and missed the first day back.
  • IRINA : theme - Coney Island inspired. Her hand knit vest was f*ing amazing! I want that jacket that was in the background at her apartment. Lots of black. Loved the silk screening - I wonder if she did that her self.
  • ALTHEA : theme - inspired by strong women in sci-fi movies. I loved the jacket that Tim called old and western. The red dress hanging in her apartment was an awful color - was it blaring bright red or blaring bright hot pink?

Project Runway :: Season 6 Episode 12

Here's my recap, cliff notes style. If you don't want to know, don't read!!

Episode 12: The Art Of Fashion
Challenge: Create A Design Using The Getty Center As Inspiration.

Favorite Designer(s): None
Least Favorite(s): Althea

Winnners: Finally 3 = Carol Hannah, Althea, Irina

Competition Over For: Gordana, Christopher

Yeahs::
  • Tim told Irina her outfit looked like road kill. She needed a little humbling.
  • Loved Christopher's top of outfit but the bottom was to heavy and stiff. He had the right idea.
  • Gordana's was gorgeous but the top of the bodice was a little stiff.
Nays::
  • Cat fighting: Irina accused Althea last episode of stealing her big sweater idea. The show starts off with tension from the accusation. In general, lots of tension and bashing among the woman.
  • Althea's skirt looked a little stiff and the top was to loose. Judges said her outfit was executed badly and looked like a mess. She received the worst complements and yet they kept her for the final 3.
  • Carol Hannah's was sewn beautifully but I did not like the color. It was very promish.

SteamPunk + Parasols + Etsy

Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy ... (Wikipedia).

Parasols are a big part of Steampunk fashion and every lady deserves one ...
