Episode 14 : Finale : Part Two

Least Favorite Designer : Mila

Seth Aaron's Collection :: Inspired by the 1940's German/Russian Military.

• Impeccable work.
• Beautiful designs.
• Some a little out there.
• Luvd the yellow plaid dress.
• Judges comments : crafts clothes beautifully, many ideas, very editorial collection, exciting collection, more sophisticated than previous work.

Favorite pieces from Seth Aaron's collection :

Mila's Collection :: Inspired by shadows.

• Still a little to retro, but beautiful.
• Lots of black. Lots of geometric shapes ... not surprising.
• Dark.
• Some nice jackets. Barely any color. The only outfit that had color (that wasn't in the leggings) was my favorite. I want that sweater jacket.
• Irina (Season 6 winner) commented saying she wants Mila's collection. Of course she does. It resembles hers, very monotone, mostly all black and simple.
• Judges comments : more contemporary, great show, successful, they liked the changes in hair and make-up compared to her previous looks.

Emilio's Collection :: Inspired by his mom and sisters (hers or his? Seemed to have forgotten).

• Lots of color. It was refreshing.
• Beautiful jackets.
• Dresses were plain and simple.
• Created his own fabric. It looked fabulous.
• Luvd the final green dress, gorgeous.
• Judges comments : blown away, gorgeous coats, most commercial of the 3 collections, quiet but sophisticated collection, heavy on the suitings, where was the drama?

Episode 13 : Finale : Part One

3 months from last episode, 4 weeks to Fashion Week, Tim visits the designers ...

Seth Aaron's :

• Lots of black and grays.
• Amazing coats.
• Impeccable tailoring, as usual.
• Tim's comment(s) : It's to much of what the judges have already seen, he needs to wow the judges and reconceptulise. Think hard and reflect.

Emilio's :

• Lots of color and texture.
• He created his own print. Wow!
• Tim's comment(s) : Refreshing. He sees a serious absence of sophistication and he sees clothes that look old.

Mila's :

• Lots of black and white, with a few spots of color.
• Lots of geometric shapes.
• Tim's comment(s) : Conservative, even going a little matronly.

Jay's :

• Lots of black.
• Beautiful color choices, nothing to bright.
• Beautiful, looks like artwork.
• Innovative.
• Tim's comment(s) : He's afraid it was getting gimmicky. Gimmicky looks like student work.

Walk-Off ... Jay Vs. Mila ...

Mila's : like the shape/fit of the outfits, but the stripes are over done. Very simple, retro.

Jay's : Fresh. Art. Beautiful shapes. Luvd it!!

Winner Of Walf-Off : Mila :(

I am completely disappointed with the judges decision. Mila's was a little boring and she had over done the geometric shapes. Jay's was innovative and so beautiful. He created beautiful texture. I'm confused why they choose Mila over Jay. I thought Jay would have been the clear winner.

Episode 12 : The Big, Top Designers

Challenge : Create a high end runway look inspired by the circus.

• Jay's - little Michael Jackson but impeccable tailoring.
• Emilio's - fun and beautiful.
• Anthony's - pretty but a little to plain for this challenge.
• Seth Aaron's - very Alice in Wonderland. Amazing tailoring.

Nays ::

• Mila's - to funky Goth.

Going to fashion week : Emilio and Seth Aaron .... yeah!

Jay and Mila also get a chance. They will both create a collection for fashion week. Judges will pick who gets to show their collection at fashion week. Go Jay! I'm rooting for you.

Episode 11 : Sew Much Pressure

Yeahs ::

• Jay's - fun.
• Anthony's - liked the flow of the fabric. Luvd the back.
• Seth Aaron's - once again, amazing detailing. Although, not the right color for Heidi.
• Emilio's - beautifully sewn. Not digging the ugly flap.

Nays ::

• Mila's - something was off. Color?
• Jonathan's - huh? The draping was bad, so was the sewing.

Sadly, Maya left the show. She had so much potential. The pressure just got to her. On the bright side Anthony was able to come back! Yeah! That was a wonderful surprise. Lots of cheering (from me) when he was announced.

Episode 10 : Hey, That's My Fabric

Challenge : Design your own fabric for your look.

Competition Over For : Anthony (This dress was not even close to being the losing design!)

Yeahs ::

• Seth Aaron's - love the shape and craftsmanship. Not so into the fabric. I like how his style always shines through. He stays true to himself.
• Anthony's - good print. Might even have been my favorite. I didn't care for the dress but it wasn't bad either. Just not my style.
• Jonathan's - didn't care for the jacket, but the dress was cute. I liked the print. It was harsh of the judges to call it a dirty tablecloth. It looked nothing like the sort.
• Emilio's - liked what he did with the print. Not sure I liked the triangle collar.
• Jay's - not my style but the tailoring was good.

Nays ::

• Maya's - print was fantastic but the ruffles were hideous.
• Mila's - plain and stiff.

Anthony? WTF? He wasn't even the worst two! I was completely shocked. The judges said some negative comments, but they really trashed Jonathan's. I thought for sure Jonathan was a goner. From the judges comments, I would have thought Mila and Jonathan would have been in the bottom two. Anthony isn't the best, but he didn't deserve to go home during this challenge. I will miss his awesome personality.

Anthony/Maya ::

• Beautiful evening dress. Liked the texture created.
• Didn't care for the day wear skirt but liked the jacket/top.

Seth Aaron/Emilio ::

• Jacket, wow! Amazing. Detailing blew me away.
• Dress was beautifully made.

Jay/Mila ::

• Liked the pants look. It's not my style but I liked it.
• Great jacket. Skirt, eh.

Jonathan/Amy ::

• I liked Amy's a lot. If my body was the right fit, I'd wear it.
• Jonathan created some fun texture but it was a little to busy.

Everyone worked well in their teams. There was no b!tching, bickering, or foul play. Some amazing jackets were created with this challenge. All in all, I liked what everyone did.

• Seth Aaron's - amazing tailoring!
• Maya's - don't normally like ruffles, but these were soft and flowy.
• Jay's - liked how it flowed while the model walked. It was beautiful.
• Anthony's - the top was lovely.
• Mila's - the judges ragged on it, but I liked it.
• Jonathan's - Romantic. Nina called it poetic ... I agree.
• Emilio's - I luvd how he works with texture. Beautiful.

Nays ::

• Amy's - I really like her designs. I was sad to see this mess. What's with the hairy boobs? I don't understand this concept.
• Ben's - The crotch was terrible. The tailoring, sad.

Yeahs ::

• Jay's - so fashionable! The model looked hot in trash bags.
• Amy's - luved the fans.
• Maya's - good futuristic look.
• Anthony's - actually looked like fabric.

Nays ::

• Mila's - to much checkerboard.
• Jesse's - liked the idea but it was to stiff.
• Jonathan's - it was okay.
• Ben's - foil. Leftovers?
• Emilio's - gets points for taking a risk ... but ... it was cheesy and looked bad.
• Seth Aaron's - looked like a Judy Jetson reject. I like his style, but boy, that dress looked uncomfortable.

Yeahs ::

• Ben's - Okay, kind of plain.
• Seth Aaron's - stylish. Awesome jackets.
• Jesse's - girl's dress was cute. Model looked hot in the woman's dress. Perfectly fitted for her body.
• Maya's - okay.
• Mila's - liked the woman's jacket.
• Janeane's - yes it was plain, but the girl's dress was cute and comfortable. I liked the woman's shirt.
• Jay's - loved everything. His outfits were the only ones, that I thought, went perfectly together. I thought he would win this one.
  

Nays ::

• Anthony's - ruffles didn't do it for me.
• Amy's - the pants were terrible but it would have looked great as a skirt.
• Jonathan's - costumey.
• Emilio's - was he designing wedding wear?

Finally I was in agreement with the judges picks for the top 3. Although, I was not in agreement with who they sent home. I thought Jonathan was going for sure. His outfits looked silly and his model actually complained that the outfit was uncomfortable. I would think the number one thing to remember in designing for kids ... comfort!

Winner : Anthony (?) - Completely shocked me.

Competition Over For : Anna

Yeahs ::

• Amy's - luved the shape, print and flow.
• Seth's - great fit.
• Emilio's - amazing with his detailing.
• Jay's - luved it! Little dramatic but oh so romantic.
• Jonathan's - looked a little to close to lingerie, but I luved the shape and colors.
• Ben's - fun and vibrant. I want that belt!

Nays ::

• Jesse's - not sure, just didn't care for it.
• Anna's - didn't like anything about it.
• Anthony's - his created texture looked to much like wrinkled pinned up fabric.
• Janeane's - to plain. Not cover material.
• Mila's - liked the pattern on the side, not the one pointing to her crotch. She had a good idea but wrong color and shape.
• Maya's - didn't like the collar.

Yeahs ::

• Jonathan - I liked how it was backless, but didn't like the tiers.
• Emilio - Cute prego dress.
• Amy - Luvd the flow.
• Jesse - I liked the jacket. It was tailored really well.

Nays ::

• Maya - I didn't like the sash or the draping.
• Anthony - The top of the dress was nice, but the jacket had to go.
• Jesus - Bad fit. It was wrong for the model's body.
• Ben - The color of the middle band was not flattering ... at least on my tv.
• Mila - Looked like the model was wrapped in a banner or flag.

There are so many designers at this point, that I commented on the ones that stood out.

Episode 3 : The Highs And Lows Of Fashion

Challenge : Team Challenge - Create A Signature Look and a look-for-less inspired by another team’s design

Yeahs ::

• Anthony/Seth - signature look - I loved the color and how it popped against the black. It was a little big on the bottom. I agree with the judges that it is a little costumey but I still think it was lovely.
• Janeane/Ben - signature look - even though it was a little plain, it was very well made.
• Emilio/Anna - signature look - loved the fit and color.

Nays ::

• Jesus/Amy - signature look - crazy patchwork.
• Jesus/Amy- second look - the pants were not bad. It was the waistband I really didn't like, and I didn't like the top.
• Mila/Jonathan - signature look - 80s meets modern spandex.
• Mila/Jonathan - second look - top was cute but the bottom of the baby doll dress was way to wide.
• Jay/Maya - signature look - looked like the dress had gills.
• Ping/Jesse - signature look - The top was gorgeous but the heavy fabric draping her shoulder look terrible. Why would anyone want to have to hold their dress up?
• Ping/Jess- second look - to plain and ill fitted.
• Anthony/Seth - second look - to much lace.

There are so many designers at this point that I commented on the ones that stood out.

So here's the deal ... I must have bad taste because I never agree with the big time fashion judges. We seem to be on opposite sides of the spectrum. Although, we did agree on one thing, Ping going home. She's out of her league. If you're on a show like this, you should really know how to sew.

Yeahs ::

• Anthony - flowed smoothly, good color.
• Ben - nice flow but she looked prego.
• Mila - edgy.
• Anna - beautifully had dyed. Looked like print/fabric.
• Jesse - good tailoring.
• Amy - so beautiful. The custom tipped dye, the flow ... great job.
• Jay - flirty, awesome texture.
• Jesus - I liked the ribbon on top. I didn't agree with the judges.
• Pamela - it looked like denim!

Nays ::

• Ping - it looked like a sack and the model's @ss was showing!
• Seth - stiff.
• Emilio - I like how he's been layering pieces of fabric, but this one was really stiff.

There are so many designers at this point that I commented on the ones that stood out.

I was impressed with this episode. The designers did a much better job than last week. I didn't agree with who they sent home. It should have been Ping. Her dress was terrible! I'm really confused by the judges decision.
