The fabric was an embroidered linen. I love the look of linen, but this was the first time sewing with it. I'm hooked! I'll be using linen for everything now. The directions/pictures was pretty fairly easy to follow. When it came to the shirring, I had to wing it. Their was no dimensions for placement. I'm in the process of starting my next one. I'm a little stumped on the directions, but determined to figure it out. If only I had a translator.
